Denim Iruya top

Handwoven top in pure wool by Doña Laura. 

It all started when Carolita said, "How beautiful these woven fabrics are, I want to use them as garments, not as accessories." And that's how the idea of making a vest came about, like the indigenous top but in a winter version and entirely handwoven. It was difficult because it's not easy to make a garment on a loom and have it turn out well and stylish.

And honestly, we couldn't be happier with the result. 

As you can see, the top is handmade on a TELAR MARIA loom, with pure wool in natural colors. 

It can be worn closed or open, depending on personal preference. It's a vest with two ways to wear it. 

Is it itchy? It's a little itchy, it's not meant to be worn directly against the skin, it's not a base layer. Rather, wear it over another garment. 

Is it heavy? No, it's not very heavy, it weighs less than a pure wool sweater. 

Is it warm? It's very warm and is ideal for wearing over dresses, or over thin blouses or sweaters. 

It goes with everything: jeans, pants, dresses. 

It's a timeless, noble, conscious, handmade garment, with a story woven by Doña Laura's hands. 

No vest is exactly alike, so there may be variations in color since they are NATURAL WOOLS.
